Do you think you should explore outside engineering?
Then our institute is probably the best place to discover yourself and give yourself an opportunity to figure what exactly you want to do in life!
Finance is one thing you should explore. Being a prospective and growing sector it has immense potential in the market.
Finance is one of the most growing and prospective sector in the economy today. Being an engineer, we, being IITians can contribute to it better by giving it a more technical aspect too.
The best thing about us is that we provide the right ecosystem, necessary background, required guidance and loads of opportunities in this field! And the icing on the cake is the Finance Club. Opportunities for related internships, elective courses in finance and access to a well-established alumni network make sure that your path to success in finance is smooth and clear.
Successful alumni from our institute have revealed their mantras and how our institute helped them grow in the direction they wanted to and provided them with a suitable platform.
“Think about what you really want to do!” This, most of us say, without understanding that you (a 4th/5th year) know little about what people in these sectors ‘actually’ do. It’s not right to decide what you want to do unless you know what’s being done in there. Hence, a good amount of time must be spent in your conversation with seniors trying to understand the nature of work. The set-up of IIT-M has this unique advantage of having such talented and ambitious people in plenty. Nomura has hired students for Global Markets (my team is a part of this division) and Risk Management roles from IIT Madras in the past.
